When deploying AI in guest-facing situations, you have three choices:

– Human-in-the-loop: AI handles tasks, humans maintain oversight and final decisions
– Human-on-the-loop: AI acts autonomously, humans can override when needed
– Human-out-of-the-loop: AI operates independently without human involvement

For luxury hospitality, I’d argue there’s a fourth: AI-out-of-the-loop. Some moments are simply too important for automation. The anniversary couple checking in. The guest whose flight was canceled. The first-time visitor who’s nervous about everything. Know which moments belong to your team before you deploy anything.
